About Us

Kristy Duncan

Kristy Duncan is President of Duncan Consulting. She is a leading payments and cash management specialist with extensive experience researching and developing strategies to extend, re-position, and develop new payments solutions. Her insightful views to the payments market are back-stopped by a 13 year career at TD Bank, which includes positions in Cash Management, Treasury, Corporate Banking, Finance and Operations. Her work at Duncan Consulting spans product positioning, market opportunities analysis, qualitative research, and product and sales strategies. Duncan Consulting clients include leading payments associations, financial institutions, payment service providers, and corporate treasuries.
Kristy has led initiatives to develop new payments infrastructures across North America, including chairing NACHA’s Cross Border Council, and CPA’s EDI Support Group. She holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto, and is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Cash Manager. 
Kristy chairs the Board of the ​Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre​, and is on the board of ​TMAC Toronto​.

Susan Abbott

Susan Abbott helps clients build more effective service organizations, by understanding customers and market segments, and then creating a service delivery strategy.
She is a skilled focus group moderator, meeting facilitator and interviewer, and an engaging presenter. Her research work for clients is characterized by actionable insights that help clients move forward on clarification and implementation of their business strategy. Research services include qualitative research, design and project management of quantitative research.
Her industry experience includes senior roles in financial planning and reporting, retail management, sales and marketing, commercial equipment financing. She is a former vice-president at the Toronto-Dominion Bank, one of Canada's leading financial services firms.
Susan led the marketing research practice at a consulting firm focusing on technology utilization in the financial services industry. Major syndicated studies included creating “Making Money on the Web: the Customer Value Proposition” and “Channel Dynamics: Channel Choices in Decision Making and Fulfillment”.
Susan has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business and an Honours BA in Psychology from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.

Mary Monk

After 20 years of building a successful career in the financial industry, Mary has set up her own consultancy business in the UK, called Breakfree Independent Consulting Services. She has experience across a wide spectrum of payments markets - from credit cards to mainstream banking to heading up the business development area of the UK's automated clearing house, BACS.
Mary’s experience in payments strategy has been in particularly fast moving environments such as the evolution of the European market in the wake of EMU. Many of her roles have been largely client-focused, with emphasis on strategy-building and establishing customer requirements for new products. She has a wide network of colleagues and contacts within the UK and European financial industry.
